Crochet Textured Rustic Harvest Sweater

Materials:

  • Worsted weight yarn (approximately 800 yards in deep orange or pumpkin color)
  • Size I (5.5 mm) crochet hook
  • Scissors
  • Tapestry needle
  • Measuring tape

Abbreviations:

  • ch = chain
  • sc = single crochet
  • dc = double crochet
  • sl st = slip stitch
  • st = stitch

Gauge:

12 stitches and 15 rows = 4 inches in double crochet.

Size Options:

This sweater can be adjusted to fit XS, S, M, L, XL. Use a measuring tape to determine the preferred bust measurement.

Instructions:

Body:

Row 1: Ch 64 (or any multiple of 4 for size adjustment). Turn.

Row 2: Dc in the 4th ch from the hook, (dc in next ch, ch 1, skip 1 ch) across. Turn.

Row 3: Ch 3, (dc in next ch-1 space, ch 1) across. Turn.

Repeat rows 2 and 3 until the piece measures 24 inches from the beginning, or adjust for desired length.

Sleeves (make 2):

Row 1: Ch 28. Turn.

Row 2: Dc in the 4th ch from hook, (dc in next ch, ch 1, skip 1 ch) across. Turn.

Repeat row 2 until the sleeve measures 18 inches (or desired length), and then fasten off.

Assembly:

Join the body and sleeves with sl st. Seam the sides and underarms. Add a simple row of sc around the neckline for a finished look. Weave in ends with a tapestry needle.

Finishing:
