Materials Needed
- Soft boucle yarn (off-white or cream) - Approximately 1000-1300 yards, depending on size.
- Crochet hook: Size J (6.0 mm)
- Tapestry needle
- Stitch markers
- Scissors
Gauge
12 sc and 14 rows = 4 inches (10 cm) in the main textured pattern.
Abbreviations
- ch: chain
- sc: single crochet
- dc: double crochet
- sl st: slip stitch
- rep: repeat
- st(s): stitch(es)
Pattern Instructions
Yoke
- Start with a magic circle. Ch 2, 11 dc into the circle, sl st to first dc to join. (12 dc)
- Round 2: Ch 2, 2 dc in each st around, sl st to join. (24 dc)
- Round 3: Ch 2, *1 dc in next st, 2 dc in next st*, rep from * to * around, sl st to join. (36 dc)
- Continue increasing in this manner until you have a total of 84 dc.
Body
- Separate for sleeves: Ch 1, sc in next 42 sts, skip next 21 sts, sc in next 42 sts, skip next 21 sts. (84 sc)
- Continue working in rounds, maintaining the stitch count, until the body measures 15 inches from the armhole.
- Finish with 2 rounds of sc, then fasten off.
Sleeves
- Join yarn in the center of the underarm. Ch 1, sc evenly around the sleeve opening, placing approximately 42 sc around.
- Continue in rounds, working even until sleeve measures approximately 17 inches or desired length.
- Finish with 2 rounds of sc, then fasten off.
Finishing
- Weave in all ends using a tapestry needle.
- Block your sweater gently to open up the texture.
