Modern Textured Starry Night Sweater
Materials:
- Worsted weight yarn in 3 colors (Main Color, Contrast Color 1, Contrast Color 2)
- 5mm (H) crochet hook
- Yarn needle for weaving ends
- Scissors
Gauge: 14 stitches x 12 rows = 4 inches in double crochet
Sizes:
- Small (Medium, Large, XL)
Pattern Instructions:
Body Panels (make 2)
- Chain 80 (88, 96, 104) stitches with Main Color.
- Row 1: DC in the 4th chain from hook, DC in each chain across. (78, 86, 94, 102 DC)
- Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as DC), turn, DC in each stitch across.
- Repeat Row 2 until piece measures 18 inches from starting chain. Change to Contrast Color 1.
- Continue alternating between Main Color and Contrast Colors 1 and 2 every 2 inches for 6 total stripes.
- Finish with a row of DC using Main Color and fasten off.
Sleeves (make 2)
- Chain 40 (44, 48, 52) stitches with Main Color.
- Row 1: DC in the 4th chain from hook, DC across. (38, 42, 46, 50 DC)
- Row 2: Ch 3, turn, DC in each stitch across.
- Repeat Row 2 until sleeve measures 16 inches. Change to Contrast Color 1.
- Continue alternating colors every 2 rows as with the body.
- Fasten off after the last row.
Assembly:
- Align the body panels with the right sides facing each other. Sew the side seams using slip stitch or your preferred method.
- Attach the sleeves to the armholes, ensuring they are evenly spaced.
- Join the top of the sleeves with a seam or whip stitch.
- Fold the hem and neckline to the inside and sew down securely.
Finishing Touches:
- Weave in all loose ends.
- Block the sweater to shape, if desired.
