Modern Textured Starry Night Sweater

Materials:

  • Worsted weight yarn in 3 colors (Main Color, Contrast Color 1, Contrast Color 2)
  • 5mm (H) crochet hook
  • Yarn needle for weaving ends
  • Scissors

Gauge: 14 stitches x 12 rows = 4 inches in double crochet

Sizes:

  • Small (Medium, Large, XL)

Pattern Instructions:

Body Panels (make 2)

  1. Chain 80 (88, 96, 104) stitches with Main Color.
  2. Row 1: DC in the 4th chain from hook, DC in each chain across. (78, 86, 94, 102 DC)
  3. Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as DC), turn, DC in each stitch across.
  4. Repeat Row 2 until piece measures 18 inches from starting chain. Change to Contrast Color 1.
  5. Continue alternating between Main Color and Contrast Colors 1 and 2 every 2 inches for 6 total stripes.
  6. Finish with a row of DC using Main Color and fasten off.

Sleeves (make 2)

  1. Chain 40 (44, 48, 52) stitches with Main Color.
  2. Row 1: DC in the 4th chain from hook, DC across. (38, 42, 46, 50 DC)
  3. Row 2: Ch 3, turn, DC in each stitch across.
  4. Repeat Row 2 until sleeve measures 16 inches. Change to Contrast Color 1.
  5. Continue alternating colors every 2 rows as with the body.
  6. Fasten off after the last row.

Assembly:

  1. Align the body panels with the right sides facing each other. Sew the side seams using slip stitch or your preferred method.
  2. Attach the sleeves to the armholes, ensuring they are evenly spaced.
  3. Join the top of the sleeves with a seam or whip stitch.
  4. Fold the hem and neckline to the inside and sew down securely.

Finishing Touches:

  • Weave in all loose ends.
  • Block the sweater to shape, if desired.
