Crochet Light and Breezy Floral Lace Cardigan

Materials:

• Lightweight cotton yarn (approx. 100g)
• Crochet hook (size 3.5mm)
• 5 small buttons
• Yarn needle
• Scissors

Abbreviations:

• ch - chain
• sc - single crochet
• dc - double crochet
• sl st - slip stitch
• sp - space
• tr - treble crochet

Gauge: 5 dc = 1 inch

Instructions:

Back Panel:

1. Ch 40 (or desired width).
2. Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc across (39 sc).
3. Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), dc in each sc across, turn.
4. Row 3: Ch 1, *sc in next st, ch 2, skip 2, sc in next st; repeat from * across. Turn.
5. Row 4: Ch 3, (dc, ch 2, dc) in first sc, *skip next 2 sc, (dc, ch 2, dc) in next sc; repeat from * across. Turn.
6. Repeat Rows 3-4 until piece measures 6 inches long, ending on a row 4.
7. Fasten off.

Front Panels (make 2):

1. Ch 20 (or desired width).
2. Repeat the same instructions for the back panel for 6 inches, but stop shaping the armholes after 4 inches.
3. Fasten off.

Joining the Panels:

1. With the right sides together, sew the front panels to the back panel at the shoulders.

Sleeves (make 2):

1. Ch 22.
2. Repeat the same stitch pattern as the back panel for 4 inches, then fasten off.

Assembly:

1. Sew sleeves to armholes.
2. Fold the cardigan hem and use slip stitches to secure it down.
3. Add buttons along the front, attaching them with yarn.
