Crochet Elegant Pineapple Lace Pumpkin Doily Free Pattern
Materials Needed:
- Size 10 crochet thread in orange, green, and brown
- 1.75mm crochet hook
- Tapestry needle
- Scissors
Abbreviations:
- ch – chain
- sc – single crochet
- dc – double crochet
- tr – treble crochet
- sl st – slip stitch
- sk – skip
Pattern:
Pumpkin Body
- With orange thread, ch 8 and join with a sl st to form a loop.
- Ch 4 (counts as 1 tr), 23 tr into ring, join with sl st to top of ch-4. (24 tr)
- Ch 4, 1 tr in same st, ch 2, *2 tr in next tr, ch 2*, repeat * to * around, join. (12 ch-2 spaces)
- Sl st to first ch-2 space, ch 3 (counts as dc), 4 dc in same space, ch 2, *5 dc in next ch-2 space, ch 2*, repeat * to * around, join.
- Continue with this pattern extending each round by increasing the number of dcs in each cluster by 5 and keeping the ch-2 spaces even.
- Repeat the pattern until the doily reaches your desired size, ending with a cluster round.
Stem
- With brown thread, attach yarn to the top center of the pumpkin.
- Ch 2, 6 sc around the base of one of the clusters, working evenly.
- Sc around, heighten the stem by adding a few dc in the round for texture.
- Draft to height desired and fasten off.
Leaf and Vine
- With green thread, attach yarn to top round of the pumpkin, next to the stem.
- Ch 15, sk 1 ch, 1 sc in next ch, *2 dc in next ch* repeat till end, fasten off for vine.
- For leaf, attach green yarn at base of vine, ch 10, sc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc, dc, tr 3, dc, hdc, sc, fasten off, shape into leaf with needle.
Finishing:
- Weave in all loose ends.
- Block the doily to open up the lacework for a neat finish.
- (Optional) Stiffen using fabric stiffener if intending to display upright or use as a wreath.
