Lace Motif
Round 1: With natural color, make a magic loop, ch 3 (counts as dc here and throughout), 15 dc into loop, sl st to top of ch-3. (16 dc)
Round 2: Ch 5 (counts as dc + ch 2). *Dc in next st, ch 2* around. Join with sl st to 3rd ch of beginning ch-5. (16 dc, 16 ch-2 sps)
Round 3: Sl st into first ch-2 sp, ch 3, (dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in same sp. *(2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in next ch-2 sp* around. Join with sl st to top of ch-3. (64 dc)
Joining Motifs
Align motifs to form diamond patterns, joining with slip stitches on the last round through the ch-2 space at each corner as you work through the body of the dress.
Bodice
Work the bodice in rows, with shaping for the neckline and armholes.
Row 1: Join yarn to point of one motif, ch 3, dc evenly across the upper edge to fit around the bust. Row 2: Dc again while following the lace pattern.
Skirt
Round 1: Continue joining motifs in the round to achieve desired length and fullness of the skirt, ensuring nice drape and flow.
Finishing: Weave in all ends, block to shape.
