Knit Multicolored Entrelac Beanie Free Pattern

Materials

• Worsted weight yarn in multiple colors
• Circular needle, size US 7 (4.5 mm)
• Darning needle
• Stitch marker

Gauge

20 stitches and 26 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch.

Instructions

Base Triangles

1. Using the first color, cast on 5 stitches.
2. Row 1 (WS): Purl all stitches.
3. Row 2 (RS): K1, M1, knit to end. (6 sts)
4. Row 3: Purl all stitches.
5. Repeat rows 2 and 3 until you have 15 stitches.

Entrelac Rectangles

1. Pick up 5 stitches on the edge of the base triangle with a new color.
2. Knit a rectangle by working back and forth over these 5 stitches and the adjoining 5 stitches from the previous triangle.
3. Repeat this process around for each rectangle.

Decreasing Triangles

1. Once desired height is reached, decrease the number of stitches by knitting two together at the beginning of each RS row within each rectangle.
2. Continue until you have a triangle with 5 stitches again.

Finishing

1. Seam the top of the beanie using a darning needle.
2. Weave in all ends.
