Gilded Harvest Leaf Napkin Ring Free Pattern – Knitted Autumn Table Accent

Wrap your table in the warmth of fall with these charming knitted napkin rings, each featuring a delicate leaf motif in rich harvest hues. A touch of gold thread adds a subtle shimmer, making every meal feel like a special occasion. This free knitting pattern is perfect for beginners and experienced crafters alike, creating a beautiful handmade gift or a festive addition to your own autumn table setting.

These napkin rings are worked flat in a simple garter stitch (knit every row) with strategic yarn overs to create the leaf shape. The result is a textured, cozy accent that curls into a ring, ready to hold your finest linens. Make a set of three in Butterscotch, Cranberry, and Olive, or repeat the pattern to create a full set of four or more.

Materials Needed

Before you begin, gather the following supplies:

  • Yarn: Lion Brand Yarn: Wool-Ease Worsted (80% acrylic, 20% wool; 197 yd / 180 m per 3 oz / 85 g skein) in the following colors:
    • Color A: 'Butterscotch'
    • Color B: 'Cranberry'
    • Color C: 'Olive'
    • Color D: 'Gold' (for accent)
Small amounts of each color are needed – one skein of each will make many rings.
  • Knitting Needles: US Size 6 (4.0 mm) knitting needles
  • Tapestry Needle: For weaving in ends and seaming
  • Stitch Marker: Optional, but helpful for keeping track of rows

Gauge: 20 stitches and 28 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch. Gauge is not critical for this project, but a firm fabric is desired so the ring holds its shape.

Step-by-Step Instructions

This pattern creates a knitted leaf that is then formed into a ring. Each leaf is worked flat, then seamed into a circle. Make one leaf in each color for a set of three, or repeat for more.

Finishing

Weave in all loose ends using your tapestry needle. With the right side facing, fold the leaf in half lengthwise so the cast-on edge meets the bind-off edge. Using the yarn tail from the cast-on, sew the two short edges together, forming a ring. Repeat for all leaves.

Gold Accent (Optional)

Using yarn D (Gold), embroider a simple running stitch along the center vein of each leaf, from the base to the tip. This adds a subtle shimmer and elevates the design.

Assembly

Slide a napkin through each ring. For a cohesive set, make one in each color. To make a complete set of four, repeat the pattern with an additional leaf in any color of your choice.

These Gilded Harvest Leaf Napkin Rings are a wonderful way to bring a handcrafted touch to your autumn table. They also make thoughtful, handmade gifts for housewarmings, hostess gifts, or holiday celebrations. Enjoy your crafting and the beautiful ambiance they create!
