Materials Needed:
- Cotton yarn in various colors for centers and a natural color for the border.
- Crochet hook size H/8 (5.0 mm).
- Yarn needle for weaving in ends.
Abbreviations:
- ch - chain
- sl st - slip stitch
- dc - double crochet
- st - stitch
Pattern Instructions:
Round 1: With center color, make a magic circle. Ch 3 (counts as dc here and throughout), work 11 dc into the circle. Join with a sl st to the top of the beginning ch 3. (12 dc)
Round 2: Ch 3, dc in same st, 2 dc in each st around. Join with sl st to the top of the beginning ch 3. (24 dc)
Round 3: Ch 3, 2 dc in next st, dc in next st, *2 dc in next st, dc in next st; repeat from * around. Join with sl st to the top of the beginning ch 3. (36 dc)
Round 4: (Background Color) Attach new color. Ch 1, sc in each st around. Join with sl st to first sc. Fasten off and weave in ends.
Round 5: Attach border color to any st. Ch 1, sc in the same st, *skip 2 st, 4 dc in next st, skip 2 st, sc in next st; repeat from * around. Join with sl st to first sc. Fasten off and weave in ends.
Repeat the pattern for each coaster in desired colors.
