Whimsical Colorful Granny Square Market Tote

Materials Needed:

• Worsted weight cotton yarn (in multiple colors)
• 4.0 mm (G) crochet hook

4 granny squares = 6" x 6"

Approximately 12" wide x 10" tall

Abbreviations:

• ch: chain
• sl st: slip stitch
• dc: double crochet
• sc: single crochet
• sp: space

Instructions:

Granny Square (Make 6):

1. With your first color, make a magic ring.
2. Round 1: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), 2 dc in ring, ch 2, *3 dc in ring, ch 2* Repeat from * to * until you have 4 groups, sl st to the top of the beginning ch-3.
3. Round 2: Sl st to the next ch-2 sp, ch 3, (2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in same sp, *in each ch-2 sp, (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc)* around, sl st to top of ch-3.
4. Continue making rounds until your square measures 6" x 6". Change colors as desired for each square.
5. Finish off and weave in ends.

Bag Assembly:

1. Arrange the 6 granny squares in two rows of 3.
2. Join the squares together using slip stitches or single crochet along the edges to form the tote's main body.
3. Once the main body is assembled, fold it to create a rectangular shape, ensuring the colorful sides are facing out.
4. For the handles, chain 40 (or desired handle length), sl st to the top edge of the bag on both sides to attach the handles securely.
