Materials Needed:

• Worsted Weight Yarn in three colors (A, B, C)
• Size G (4.0 mm) Crochet Hook
• Scissors
• Tapestry Needle
• Measuring Tape

Size:

This pattern is designed for newborn sizes.

Gauge:

16 sts and 20 rows = 4" in double crochet.

Instructions:

Body of the Vest:

1. With Color A, chain 40 to start.
2. Row 1: DC in fourth chain from hook, DC in each chain across (37 DC).
3. Row 2-6: Ch 3, turn, DC in each stitch across (37 DC). Change to Color B at the end of Row 6.
4. Row 7-11: Repeat the DC pattern in Color B. Change to Color C at the end of Row 11.
5. Row 12-16: Repeat the DC pattern in Color C.
6. Row 17: Ch 1, sc around the entire armholes to create a neat finish.
7. Row 18: Ch 1, sc across the bottom edge to add more stability.

Pom-Pom Details:

1. Using Color A, create small pom-poms. Use a pom-pom maker or wrap yarn around fingers about 50 times.
2. Tie securely and trim ends. Make 5 pom-poms in total.
3. Evenly space the pom-poms along the front of the vest and sew them in place.
