Crochet Vibrant Textured Leaves Infinity Scarf
Materials:
- Worsted weight yarn in assorted colors (4 colors for leaves and 1 for the main body)
- Size H (5.0 mm) crochet hook
- Tapestry needle
- Scissors
Gauge: 12 stitches and 14 rows = 4 inches in slip stitch pattern
Instructions:
Leaf Motif (Make 8):
- With Color A, make a magic ring.
- Round 1: Ch 2, 8 dc in magic ring. Join with sl st (8 sts)
- Round 2: Ch 2, *dc in next st, 2 dc in next st*, repeat from * around. Join (12 sts)
- Round 3: Ch 2, dc in next 2 sts, *2 dc in next st, dc in next 2 sts*, repeat from * around. Join (16 sts)
- Fasten off and weave in ends.
Scarf Body:
- With Main Color, chain 36.
- Row 1: In 2nd ch from hook, sc, sc in each ch across (35 sc).
- Rows 2-4: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st across.
- Row 5: Ch 3 (counts as dc), *skip 1 st, dc in next st*, repeat from * across. (You will have uneven stitches which creates the texture)
- Rows 6-10: Repeat rows 2-5 for desired length, ending with a sc row.
Assembly:
- Lay the scarf flat. Attach your leaves by sewing them in clusters of 2-3 at different intervals to create a natural look.
- Once satisfied with placement, secure the leaves into place using a tapestry needle and woven yarn tails.
- Join ends of the scarf together to form an infinity style by slip stitching or sewing them securely.
Finishing: Weave in any remaining ends and enjoy your beautiful new scarf!
