Crochet Vibrant Textured Diamond Bag Free Pattern

Materials:

• Medium weight cotton yarn (size 4) in 5 colors
• Size H (5.00 mm) crochet hook
• Yarn needle for weaving in ends
• Scissors

Gauge: Gauge is not critical for this project, but aim for approx. 4” x 4” per square.

Instructions:

1. Diamond Motif:
• Ch 5, join to form a ring.
• Round 1: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), 2 dc in ring, *ch 2, 3 dc in ring; repeat from * three more times, ch 2, join with a sl st to top of ch 3. (4 sets of 3 dc clusters)
• Round 2: Sl st to next ch-2 sp, ch 3 (counts as first dc), 2 dc in same sp, *ch 2, 3 dc in next ch-2 sp; repeat from * three more times, ch 2, join with a sl st to top of ch 3.
• Round 3: Repeat Round 2, changing colors as desired after every round.
2. Assembly:
• Make 6 diamond motifs total.
• Join them together in two rows of three using a slip stitch or whip stitch on the back side.
3. Bag Sides:
• Using the joined square piece, single crochet around the edges to create a border, working 2 sc in each corner.
• Continue to crochet in the round until the bag measures around 10 inches in height.
4. Handles:
• Ch 30 (or desired length), sc back to the starting chain to form a strap.
• Attach the strap evenly on each side of the bag using whip stitch.
5. Finishing:
• Weave in all ends using a yarn needle.
• Block your bag to shape if needed.
