Crochet Textured Twisted Cowl with Floral Accent Free Pattern
Materials
- Worsted weight yarn (approx. 200 yards)
- 6.0 mm crochet hook (or size needed to obtain gauge)
- Yarn needle for weaving in ends
- Scissors
Gauge
10 dc x 10 rows = 4 inches.
Abbreviations
- ch = chain
- dc = double crochet
- sc = single crochet
- sl st = slip stitch
- rnd = round
Instructions
Cowl
- Chain 45 (or desired length for your cowl circumference)
- Row 1: Dc in 3rd ch from hook, dc in each ch across (43 dc). Turn.
- Row 2: Ch 2, *skip next dc, dc in next dc, dc in skipped dc (V stitch made)*; repeat from * to * across. Turn.
- Row 3: Ch 2, dc in each V stitch across (43 dc). Turn.
- Repeat Rows 2 and 3 until piece measures approximately 12 inches in height.
- Fold piece in half and sl st the ends together, ensuring the seam is on the inside.
Floral Accent
- Using a smaller hook (5.0 mm), make a magic circle.
- Round 1: 6 sc in magic circle. Pull tight to close. (6 sc).
- Round 2: *2 sc in each sc around* (12 sc).
- Round 3: *sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc* (18 sc).
- Round 4: *sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc* (24 sc). Finish off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
Assembly
- Using the tail, sew the floral accent to the side of the cowl.
- Weave in all ends.
