Soft Textured Waves Cowl Free Pattern
This charming cowl features a unique wave stitch that creates depth and texture while keeping you warm and stylish. Ideal for beginners, this pattern is adjustable in size, allowing for customization according to your preference.
Materials Needed:
- Worsted weight yarn (approx. 200 yards), in your preferred color
- H (5.0 mm) crochet hook
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
Stitches Used:
- Chain (ch)
- Single Crochet (sc)
- Double Crochet (dc)
- Slip Stitch (sl st)
Pattern Instructions:
- Start with a slip knot and chain 80. Join with a slip stitch to form a circle. Do not twist.
- Round 1: Ch 2 (counts as first dc), dc in each ch around. Join with a sl st to top of ch 2. (80 dc)
- Round 2: Ch 2, *dc in next 2, ch 2, skip 2*; repeat from * to * around. Join with a sl st to top of ch 2.
- Round 3: Ch 1, *sc in next ch 2 space, ch 2*; repeat from * to * around. Join with a sl st to the first sc.
- Round 4: Ch 2, *dc in next 2 sc, ch 2, skip next 2 sc*; repeat from * to * around. Join with a sl st to top of ch 2.
- Repeat rounds 3 and 4 until the cowl measures 10 inches in height or desired length.
- Finish with a Round 3 to create a nice edge. Fasten off and weave in the ends.
Sizing:
This cowl can be adjusted by adding or removing chains in the starting chain to make it larger or smaller. It’s also easy to modify the height by adding or reducing rounds.
