Soft Textured Embrace Wrap Free Pattern

This beautiful wrap features a unique textured stitch pattern that creates a warm and cozy fabric, perfect for chilly days. Materials:

  • Worsted weight yarn (approximately 800 yards)
  • Size I (5.5 mm) crochet hook
  • Scissors
  • Yarn needle for weaving in ends

Gauge:

10 stitches and 12 rows = 4 inches in textured stitch pattern

Finished Size:

Approximately 60 inches wide and 30 inches long (including hood)

Stitch Abbreviations:

  • ch = chain
  • dc = double crochet
  • sc = single crochet
  • st(s) = stitch(es)

Pattern Instructions:

Wrap Body:

  1. Start with a foundation chain of 120 stitches.
  2. Row 1: Dc in the 4th ch from the hook, dc in each ch across (118 dc). Turn.
  3. Row 2: Ch 2, *dc in next st, skip 1 st*, repeat from * to * across, dc in top of ch-2. Turn.
  4. Row 3-38: Repeat Rows 1 and 2.

Hood:

  1. To create the hood, fold the top 20 inches of the wrap towards the center, leaving 40 inches for the front of the wrap.
  2. Ch 2, attach yarn at the seam of the fold and work dc around the perimeter of the hood. Join with sl st to the first dc.
  3. Continue for 5 rows, creating a soft edge.

Finishing:

Weave in all ends. Block the wrap lightly to open up the textured stitches and achieve your desired drape.

Care Instructions:

Hand wash in cold water, lay flat to dry.
