- 6-12 months
Stitches Used:
- Chain (ch)
- Double Crochet (dc)
- Slip Stitch (sl st)
- Single Crochet (sc)
- Front Post Double Crochet (FPDC)
Instructions:
Romper Body:
- Start with the bottom of the romper. Chain 40 (54 for larger sizes). Join to form a circle, careful not to twist.
- Round 1: Ch 2 (counts as first dc), dc in each ch around. Join with sl st to top of ch-2.
- Round 2: Ch 2, dc in each st around, join.
- Continue rounds until the piece measures 8 (10, 12) inches from the base.
- To create the sleeves, ch 12 on each side, and attach back to the body at the next st. This will give you space for the arms.
- Work straight (without increasing) until you reach the top of the romper or desired armhole size.
- For the neckline, do a round of sc, then work an additional round of FPDC to create texture.
Leg Openings:
- For the leg openings, chain 4 and skip to the next st, sl st. Repeat for the other leg. Continue with DC in the body st until you reach the leg chains.
- Continue working in rounds until the leg openings are approximately 4 (5, 6) inches.
Hat:
- Chain 38 and join to form a circle.
- Round 1: Ch 2, dc in each st around. Join.
- Continue rounds until the hat measures 6 inches tall.
- For the leafy topping, chain 6. Starting from the second chain from the hook, sc, hdc, dc, and then skip two chains in the base, attach to hat. Repeat 3 times.
Finishing:
- Weave in all ends with a yarn needle.
- Optional: Add buttons or embellishments to personalize.
- Enjoy your handmade outfit for your little pumpkin!
