Materials:

• Worsted weight yarn (3 colors: main color, secondary color, accent color)
• Size H (5.0 mm) crochet hook
• Yarn needle
• Scissors

Gauge: 14 stitches and 16 rows = 4 inches in double crochet.

Finished Dimensions: Approx. 10 inches wide by 40 inches long.

Abbreviations:

• ch = chain
• dc = double crochet
• sl st = slip stitch
• sk = skip
• sts = stitches
• rnd = round

Pattern:

Start

With Color A, make a slip knot and ch 90.

Row 1

Dc in the 4th ch from hook and in each ch across. Turn. (88 dc)

Row 2

Ch 2 (counts as first dc), dc in next dc, *fpdc in next dc, bpdc in next dc; repeat from * across to last 2 dc, dc in each of last 2 dc. Turn.

Row 3

Ch 2, dc in next dc, *bpdc in next fpdc, fpdc in next bpdc; repeat from * across to last 2 dc, dc in each of last 2 dc. Turn.

Repeat Rows 2 and 3 until scarf measures approx. 40 inches in length.

Color Change

At the last row of Color A, switch to Color B and repeat the pattern for another 10 inches, then switch to Color C, continuing until you reach your desired length.

Finish

When you reach the desired length, fasten off and weave in all ends. Join the two ends of the cowl by making sl sts along the edge.
