Crochet Elegant Snowflake Winter Cape Free Pattern

Materials Needed:
- Worsted weight yarn in light blue and white
- Crochet hook size H/5.0 mm
- Tapestry needle
- Scissors
- Pompom maker
Gauge:
4 inches = 12 dc and 6 rows
Instructions:
Body of the Cape:
- Using light blue yarn, chain 120.
- Row 1: Double crochet (dc) in the 4th chain from hook, dc in each chain across. Turn.
- Row 2-50: Chain 3, dc in each stitch across. Turn.
- Fasten off and weave in ends.
Snowflake Appliqués:
- With white yarn, chain 5 and join with a slip stitch to form a ring.
- Round 1: Chain 3, 15 dc in ring, join with slip stitch to top of chain 3.
- Round 2: Chain 1, sc in same stitch, *(chain 3, dc in third chain from hook, sc in next stitch)* repeat around. Join with slip stitch.
- Make 5-7 snowflakes and attach to the cape using the tapestry needle.
Edge and Hood:
- Join white yarn at bottom edge of one side, sc evenly around the entire outer edge. Fasten off.
- For the hood, rejoin light blue yarn at top corner, chain 2.
- Row 1-20: Half double crochet (hdc) evenly across, turn.
- Fold hood in half, sl st across top edge to join and form the hood.
- Edge the hood with white yarn in single crochet and fasten off.
Pompoms:
- Use the pompom maker to create two fluffy white pompoms.
- Attach one on each side of the cape's tie strings.
Finishing:
Sew in all remaining loose ends and enjoy your elegant Snowflake Winter Cape.
