Crochet Elegant Bamboo Leaf Pattern Tote Bag

Materials:

• Worsted weight cotton yarn (approx. 300 yards)
• 5mm (H) crochet hook
• Stitch marker
• Yarn needle for weaving ends
• 1 decorative button (optional)

Gauge:

12 double crochet (dc) stitches and 7 rows = 4 inches in bamboo leaf stitch.

Stitches Used:

• Chain (ch)
• Double Crochet (dc)
• Slip Stitch (sl st)
• Half Double Crochet (hdc)

Instructions:

Base & Body:

1. Foundation: Ch 4 and join to form a ring.
2. Round 1: Ch 2 (counts as first dc), 11 dc into ring. Join with sl st to top of ch 2. (12 dc)
3. Round 2: Ch 2, 1 dc in same st, 2 dc in each dc around. Join. (24 dc)
4. Round 3: Ch 2, *1 dc in next st, 2 dc in next st; repeat from * around. Join. (36 dc)
5. Round 4-10: Ch 2, dc in each st around. Join. (36 dc)
6. Round 11: Ch 2, *1 dc in next 2 st, 2 dc in next st; repeat from * around. Join. (48 dc)
7. Round 12: Continue in bamboo leaf stitch pattern for 8 more rounds.

Handles:

1. Attach yarn at desired handle position on the inside of the bag.
2. Ch 60, sl st to the other side at the same position. Repeat for second handle.

Finishing:

1. Weave in all ends securely.
2. Attach decorative button at the top of the bag as a closure if desired.

Care Instructions:

Hand wash and lay flat to dry. Do not iron.
