• Scissors
• Tapestry needle

Gauge:

4 inches x 4 inches = 16 stitches x 20 rows in pattern stitch.

Abbreviations:

• ch: chain
• sc: single crochet
• sc blo: single crochet in back loop only

Instructions:

1. Start: Ch 30.
2. Row 1: Sc in the second ch from hook and in each ch across. Turn. (29 sc)
3. Row 2: Ch 1 (does not count as a stitch), sc blo in each stitch across. Turn. (29 sc blo)
4. Row 3: Ch 1, sc in each stitch across. Turn. (29 sc)
5. Repeat Rows 2 and 3: Continue repeating rows 2 and 3 alternately until piece measures approximately 8 inches from the starting chain, ending with a Row 3.
6. Fasten off and weave in all ends with a tapestry needle.
