Round Fringe Coaster Crochet Pattern

Materials:

• Worsted weight cotton yarn in cream or desired color
• Crochet hook size H/8 (5.0 mm)
• Scissors
• Tapestry needle
• Measuring tape

Gauge:

Gauge is not critical for this project.

Finished Size:

Approximately 5 inches in diameter excluding fringe.

Abbreviations:

• ch - chain
• sl st - slip stitch
• sc - single crochet
• st(s) - stitch(es)

Instructions:

1. Start with a magic ring.
2. Round 1: Ch 1, work 8 sc into the magic ring, join with a sl st to the first sc. (8 sts)
3. Round 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in each st around, join with a sl st to the first sc. (16 sts)
4. Round 3: Ch 1, (sc in next st, 2 sc in next st) repeat around, join with a sl st to the first sc. (24 sts)
5. Round 4: Ch 1, (sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st) repeat around, join with a sl st to the first sc. (32 sts)
6. Round 5: Ch 1, (sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in next st) repeat around, join with a sl st to the first sc. (40 sts)
7. Round 6: Ch 1, (sc in next 4 sts, 2 sc in next st) repeat around, join with a sl st to the first sc. (48 sts)
8. Add fringe: Cut 5-inch lengths of yarn. Attach one piece to each stitch around by folding the yarn in half, pulling the loop through a stitch, and drawing the ends through the loop. Tighten to secure.
9. Trim fringe to even out.

Finishing:

Weave in ends with the tapestry needle.
