Gauge
24 stitches and 32 rows = 10 cm (4 in) square in double crochet stitch.

- ch = chain
- sl st = slip stitch
- dc = double crochet
- sp = space
Instructions
- Start with a slip knot: Make a slip knot on your hook.
- Chain 6: Create a foundation chain by chaining 6 stitches.
- Join to form a ring: Slip stitch into the first chain to create a circular ring.
- Round 1: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), 11 dc in the ring. Join with sl st to the top of the ch 3. (Total: 12 dc)
- Round 2: Ch 3, dc in the same stitch, *2 dc in the next dc*. Repeat from * to * around. Join with sl st to the top of the ch 3. (Total: 24 dc)
- Round 3: Ch 3, dc in the same stitch, *(1 dc in the next dc, 2 dc in the next dc)*. Repeat from * to * around. Join with sl st to the top of the ch 3. (Total: 36 dc)
- Round 4: Ch 1, *sc in the next 2 dc, picot (ch 3, sl st in the first ch to form a loop) in the next dc*. Repeat from * to * around. Join the last round with sl st to the first sc.
- Finish: Cut yarn, leaving a long tail. Pull the tail through the last stitch and tighten. Weave in all ends with a yarn needle.
- Blocking (optional): To give your coaster a neat finish, block it by lightly wetting it and shaping it to your desired size, then let it dry flat.
