Crochet Whimsical Textured Floral Bookmark
Materials:
- Worsted weight yarn (in two contrasting colors)
- G/6 (4.0 mm) crochet hook
- Tapestry needle
- Scissors
- Measuring tape
Stitches Used:
- Chain (ch)
- Slip stitch (sl st)
- Single crochet (sc)
- Double crochet (dc)
- Half double crochet (hdc)
Instructions:
Base Chain:
Ch 20 with first color.
Row 1:
Sc in the second ch from the hook. Sc in each ch across (19 sc). Turn.
Row 2:
Ch 1, hdc in each sc across. Turn.
Row 3:
Change to second color. Ch 3 (counts as first dc), dc in same stitch. *Skip next stitch, 2 dc in the next stitch; repeat from * across. Turn.
Row 4:
Ch 1, sc in first dc, *2 sc in next dc; repeat from * across. Turn.
Row 5:
Ch 1, hdc in each sc across. Turn.
Rows 6-10:
Repeat Rows 3-5 as desired for desired length (about 6-8 inches). Cut yarn, leaving a long tail for finishing.
Creating the Tassel:
Cut several strands of yarn about 8 inches long. Fold them in half and use the tail from the bookmark to tie them at the center to create a tassel. Trim the ends to your desired length.
Finishing:
