Yarn: Various worsted weight yarns (minimum of 4 contrasting colors)
Hook: H (5.0 mm)
Gauge: 4" x 4" = 14 sc x 18 rows (blocked)

Special Stitches:

• Flower Petal: (1 dc, ch 2, 1 dc) all in the same stitch
• Magic Circle: To start the flower center

Instructions:

Flower Motif: (Make 9)

1. Make a magic circle.
2. Round 1: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), 11 dc into the magic circle. Join with a slip stitch to the top of the beginning ch 3. Pull snug to close the circle. (12 dc)
3. Round 2: Ch 1, *2 sc in the next dc, 1 sc in next dc; repeat from * around. Join with a slip stitch. (18 sc)
4. Round 3: *(1 dc, ch 2, 1 dc) in next sc. Repeat from * in each sc around. Join with a slip stitch.
5. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Joining Squares:

1. Arrange your flower motifs in a 3x3 grid.
2. Using contrasting color yarn, attach motifs via the whip stitch technique, aligning edges evenly.

Border:

1. Join yarn at any corner of the assembled square.
2. Round 1: Ch 1, sc evenly around the entire square, placing 3 sc in each corner. Join with a slip stitch.
3. Round 2: Ch 1, sc in each sc around, placing 1 dc in each corner sc. Join and fasten off.

Finishing:
