Crochet Textured Geometric Patchwork Cushion Cover

Materials:

• Sturdy worsted weight yarn in 5 colors (approx. 100 yards each)
• Size H (5 mm) crochet hook
• Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
• Polyester cushion insert (18" x 18")

Patchwork Squares

Make 9 squares in total, 3 of each color.

• Square A: Chain 16, turn, and work double crochet (DC) in each chain across (15 DC). Turn.
• Row 2: Chain 3 (counts as first DC), work 1 DC in each DC (15 DC). Turn.
• Row 3: Repeat Row 2 until square measures 5" across.
• Fasten off.

• Square B: Chain 16, turn, work half double crochet (HDC) in each chain across (15 HDC). Turn.
• Repeat the same pattern as Square A but switch to HDC for a different texture.

• Square C: Chain 16, turn, work single crochet (SC) in each chain for a tighter texture. Complete similarly to previous squares.

Assembly

Once all squares are made, arrange them in a 3x3 grid. Use your tapestry needle to sew the squares together using slip stitch or whip stitch.

Edging

Once the patchwork is assembled, add a border:

• Round 1: With the same yarn, SC evenly around the entire cushion cover, placing 3 SC in each corner. Slip stitch to join.
• Round 2: Chain 2 (counts as first HDC), HDC in each stitch around (including corners). Join and fasten off.

Finishing

Weave in all ends and insert your cushion stuffing. Enjoy your new handmade cushion cover!
