Crochet Whimsical Lucky Clover Coaster Free Pattern

Materials

  • Medium weight cotton yarn in green (approximately 50 grams)

Instructions

Leaf Sections (make 4)

  1. Start with a magic ring.
  2. Round 1: Ch 1, 8 sc into the ring. Pull the ring tight. (8 stitches)
  3. Round 2: 2 sc in each stitch around. (16 stitches)
  4. Round 3: *sc in next stitch, 2 sc in next stitch* repeat around. (24 stitches)
  5. Round 4: *sc in next 2 stitches, 2 sc in next stitch* repeat around. (32 stitches)
  6. Round 5: *hdc in next 2 stitches, 2 hdc in next stitch* repeat around. (40 stitches)
  7. Finish with a sl st to the first hdc. Leave a long tail for sewing.

Assembling Leaves

  1. Using the long tail, sew the leaves together at the base, overlapping slightly to create a full clover shape.

Stem

  1. Ch 10.
  2. Row 1: Starting from the 2nd ch from the hook, sc in each chain to the end (9 stitches).
  3. Row 2-3: Ch 1, turn, sc in each stitch across.
  4. Fasten off and leave a long tail for attaching to the leaf cluster.
  5. Attach the stem to the base of the clover using the tail.

Finishing Touches

  1. If you want added stability, insert fibers fill in the leaves while sewing them closed.
  2. Weave in all ends securely.
