Crochet Whimsical Lacy Dragonfly Soft Appliqué Free Pattern

Materials:

• Worsted weight yarn in your choice of colors (2 colors recommended for body & wings)
• 4mm crochet hook
• Scissors
• Tapestry needle for weaving in ends

Stitches Used:

• Chain (ch)
• Slip stitch (sl st)
• Double crochet (dc)
• Treble crochet (tr)

Dragonfly Body:

1. Start with color A. Chain 6 and join with a sl st to form a ring.

2. Round 1: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), 11 dc into the ring. Join with a sl st.

3. Round 2: Ch 3, 1 dc in the same stitch, 2 dc in each of the next 11 stitches (24 dc). Join.

4. Change to color B. Round 3: Ch 1, sc in the same stitch, *ch 5, sc in the next stitch*, repeat around. Join.

5. Cut yarn and fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Wings (Make 2):

1. With color A, chain 5 and join to form a ring.

2. Round 1: Ch 3, 2 dc in the ring, ch 4, sl st into the ring. (This forms the first wing)
   Repeat for the second wing.

3. Round 2: Ch 3, 2 dc in the ring, ch 4, 2 dc in the ring, ch 4, sl st into the ring. Join.

4. Cut yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Assembling the Dragonfly:

1. Using the tail from the body, sew the 2 wings onto the body, positioning them as desired.

2. Weave in any ends and secure all pieces.

3. You can attach the dragonfly to any project, or use it as a standalone decoration!
