Crochet Whimsical Fluttering Dragonfly Applique

Materials:
- Worsted weight yarn in three colors (choose your favorites!)
- Crochet hook (size G/4.0 mm)
- Scissors
- Yarn needle
- Stitch marker (optional)

Instructions:

Body (Make 1):

1. Start with color A.
2. Ch 6.
3. Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 3 ch, 3 sc in last ch. Now working on the opposite side of the chain, sc in next 3 ch, 2 sc in last ch (10 sc total). Turn.
4. Row 2: Ch 1, *sc in next 3, inc* (repeat from * to *). Turn (12 sc total).
5. Row 3: Ch 1, *sc in next 4, inc* (repeat from * to *). Turn (14 sc total).
6. Row 4: Ch 1, sc in each st across. Fasten off. Leave a long tail for sewing.

Wings (Make 4):

Top Wings (Make 2):

1. Start with color B.
2. Ch 10.
3. Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook and in next 5 ch (total 6 dc). Ch 2, dc in the same st as last dc. Turn.
4. Row 2: Ch 2, dc in first st, *dc in next 2, dc2tog* (repeat from * to *). Turn (4 dc total).
5. Row 3: Ch 1, sc in each st across. Fasten off.

Bottom Wings (Make 2):

1. Start with color C.
2. Ch 8.
3. Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook and in next 3 ch (total 4 dc). Ch 2, dc in the same st as last dc. Turn.
4. Row 2: Ch 2, dc in first st, *dc2tog (2 times)*. Turn (2 dc total).
5. Row 3: Ch 1, sc in each st across. Fasten off.

Assembly:

1. Using the long tail from the body, sew the wings onto the body: attach the top wings first, slightly overlapping them, followed by the bottom wings.
2. Embellish with beads or embroidery stitches if desired!

Finishing:
Weave in all ends and attach the dragonfly to your chosen project. Enjoy your whimsical creation!
