Whimsical Floral Blooming Square Pattern

Materials:

• Sport or DK weight yarn in various colors (5 colors recommended)
• 4mm crochet hook
• Scissors
• Tapestry needle for weaving in ends

Abbreviations:

• ch = chain
• sl st = slip stitch
• dc = double crochet
• puff st = puff stitch
• cl = cluster stitch

Pattern:

Round 1:

1. With Color A, make a magic circle.
2. Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), then 11 dc in the circle. Pull tight to close the circle.
3. Join with a sl st to the top of the ch-3. (12 dc)

Round 2:

1. Slip stitch to the next dc. Ch 3, (1 dc, puff st) in the same stitch.
2. Ch 1, *(puff st, ch 1) in the next dc, (1 dc, puff st) in the next dc.* Repeat from * to * around.
3. Join with a sl st to the top of the ch-3. (12 puff sts)

Round 3:

1. Change to Color B. Slip stitch into the first puff st. Ch 3, (1 dc, ch 1) in the same puff st.
2. *In the next puff st: (1 cl, ch 1) then (1 dc, ch 1) in the next puff st.* Repeat from * to * around.
3. Join with a sl st to the top of the ch-3. (12 cl and dc sections)

Round 4:

1. Change to Color C. Slip stitch to the first dc. Ch 3, then 3 dc in the same space.
2. In every ch-1 space, work 3 dc, then in the cl section, work (1 puff st, ch 1) and skip to the next space.
3. Complete around and join with a sl st in the top of the ch-3.

Final Rounds:

1. Change to Color D. Work 1 round of sc around for an added border.
2. Finish with a slip stitch. Weave in all ends and enjoy!
