Crochet Vibrant Textured Petal Brooch Free Pattern

Materials Needed:

• Worsted weight yarn in two contrasting colors
• G/4.0mm crochet hook
• Scissors
• Tapestry needle
• Brooch pin or safety pin for attaching

Stitches Used:

• Magic ring
• Chain (ch)
• Single crochet (sc)
• Half double crochet (hdc)
• Double crochet (dc)
• Slip stitch (sl st)

Pattern Instructions:

Center Circle:

1. Make a magic ring. 2. Ch 1, and work 8 sc into the ring. Pull the ring tight. 3. Join with a sl st to the first sc. (8 sc)

Petals (Make 6):

1. Join the first color yarn in any sc from the center. 2. Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), then make 2 dc in the same stitch. 3. Ch 2, and make 3 dc in the same stitch. This forms your first petal. 4. Repeat steps 2-3 in each of the remaining sc to create a total of 6 petals. 5. After the last petal, join with a sl st to the top of the initial ch 3.

Second Round:

1. Change to the second color yarn. 2. Sl st into the top of any petal. 3. Ch 1, then sc in the same space. 4. *Ch 2, sk next petal, sc in next petal; repeat from * until the last petal. 5. Ch 2 and join with a sl st to the first sc.

Finishing:

1. Fasten off and weave in all ends using a tapestry needle. 2. Attach a safety pin or brooch pin to the back of your flower. 3. Your vibrant textured petal brooch is now ready to wear!
