Crochet Textured Bohemian Dreamcatcher Wall Hanging Free Pattern
Materials:
- Yarn (chunky weight, approximately 200 yards)
- 6.5 mm (K) crochet hook
- Wooden hoop (10 inches in diameter)
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle
- Measuring tape
Abbreviations:
- ch = chain
- sc = single crochet
- dc = double crochet
- tr = triple crochet
- sl st = slip stitch
Gauge: 4 inches = 10 stitches in dc
Instructions:
Starting the Wall Hanging:
- Make a magic ring.
- Ch 3 (counts as first dc), then work 11 dc into the ring. Pull the ring tight to close. Join with a sl st to the top of the beginning ch-3.
- Round 1: Ch 3, dc in the same space, *2 dc in the next stitch; repeat from * around. Join with a sl st.
- Round 2: Ch 3, *dc in next 2 stitches, 2 dc in the next; repeat from * around. Join with a sl st.
- Continue increasing in this method until the circle measures the same size as your hoop. Fasten off.
Creating the Textured Body:
- Attach yarn to the hoop using the tapestry needle.
- Ch 2, then sc all around the hoop. Join with a sl st.
- For the next row, ch 3 (counts as first dc), then work *1 dc in the next stitch, ch 1; repeat from * until you complete the round. Join with a sl st.
- Next, work in the established pattern: in each ch-1 space, work 1 dc, ch 1 (this will create openness). Add a dc into every dc from the previous round.
- Repeat this pattern until you reach your desired length from the hoop (approximately 12-18 inches). Finish off and weave in ends.
Adding the Fringe:
- Cut strands of yarn approximately 10-12 inches long.
- Using the tapestry needle, attach the strands to the bottom of the wall hanging by folding them in half and pulling the loop through a stitch.
- Continue until you've filled the bottom edge with fringe.
Finishing Touch:
- Trim the fringe to your desired length.
- Hang your beautiful crochet dreamcatcher on the wall and enjoy your new bohemian decor!
Happy Crocheting!
