Materials:
- Worsted weight yarn in three colors: Cream, Olive Green, and Dark Brown
- Crochet hook size J/10 (6.0 mm)
- Tapestry needle
- Scissors
Abbreviations:
- ch: chain
- sc: single crochet
- dc: double crochet
- fpdc: front post double crochet
- bpdc: back post double crochet
- sl st: slip stitch
Gauge:
4 blocks of 6 sts x 6 rows = 4 inches using dc.
Finished Size:
Approximately 60 x 70 inches.
Instructions:
Base Chain:
Using Cream, ch 200.
Row 1: (RS)
Dc in 4th ch from hook and in each ch across, turn. (198 dc)
Rows 2-4:
Ch 3 (counts as dc here and throughout), *fpdc around the next dc, bpdc around the next dc; repeat from * across, end with dc in top of starting ch, turn.
Changing Colors:
Change to Olive Green.
Rows 5-8:
Repeat Row 2, alternating post stitches (bpdc over fpdc and vice versa) to create a ridge effect.
Changing Colors:
Change to Dark Brown.
Rows 9-12:
Repeat Row 5.
Continue Pattern:
Continue alternating colors every 4 rows: Cream, Olive Green, and Dark Brown, repeating Rows 5-8 for a total of 18 repeats of the color pattern.
Border:
Using Olive Green, work a round of sc around the entire edge of the blanket, placing 3 sc in each corner. Fasten off and weave in all ends.
