Crochet Radiant Flower Garden Lap Blanket Free Pattern
Materials Needed:
- 5 balls of Color A (background color)
- 3 balls each of Colors B, C, D (flower colors)
- Size H (5.0 mm) Crochet Hook
- Yarn Needle
- Scissors
Gauge: 12 dc x 6 rows = 4 inches.
Pattern Notes:
- This pattern is worked in rounds and uses a combination of double crochet and slip stitch techniques.
- Change colors at the end of rounds as instructed.
- Join each round with a slip stitch, and fasten off color changes securely.
Instructions:
Hexagon Motif:
- With Color A, make a magic ring.
- Round 1: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), 11 dc in ring. Join with a slip stitch to top of ch-3. (12 dc)
- Round 2: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc). 1 dc in same stitch. *2 dc in next st. Repeat from * around. Join. (24 dc)
- Round 3: Change to Color B. Ch 1, sc in same stitch. *Ch 2, skip 2(dc), sc in next. Repeat from * around. Join. (12 ch-2 spaces)
- Rounds 4-5: Using Color B, create petals by working 5 dc in each ch-2 space. Join and fasten off.
- Repeat to create 20 hexagons, alternating colors for each hexagon as desired.
Assembly:
- Lay out hexagons in a 5x4 arrangement for the blanket.
- Using Color A, whip stitch hexagons together by placing them right sides facing.
- Once assembled, create a border: Round 1 - with Color A, sc evenly around blanket. Round 2 - ch 3, dc in each sc (creating a shell stitch), join and fasten off.
- Weave in all ends securely using a yarn needle.
Finishing:
Block your blanket to shape, and enjoy your cozy, radiant flower garden lap blanket!
