- Size N (10mm) crochet hook
- Scissors

Gauge:
9 stitches and 6 rows = 4 inches in Braid Stitch.
Finished Dimensions:
The finished blanket will measure approximately 50 inches x 60 inches.
Stitches Used:
- Chain (ch)
- Double Crochet (dc)
- Slip Stitch (sl st)
Pattern Instructions:
Foundation Row:
- Ch 80 (or desired width in multiples of 10).
Row 1:
- In the 4th ch from the hook, make 1 dc. (This counts as your first 2 dc).
- Make 1 dc in each of the next 2 ch, then ch 1.
- Skip 2 ch, in the next ch make 3 dc (this creates the braid effect).
- Repeat from * across the row, ending with 1 dc in the last ch.
Row 2:
- Ch 3 (this counts as your first dc), turn work.
- Skip the first dc, and in the ch 1 space from the previous row, make 3 dc.
- In the next dc, make 1 dc, and in the next ch 1 space, make another 3 dc.
- Repeat from * across the row, ending with 1 dc in the last dc.
Repeat Rows 1 & 2 until the blanket reaches desired length.
Final Row:
- For the last row, ch 1 and make 1 sl st across the row to finish.
Finishing:
- Fasten off and weave in any loose ends with the tapestry needle.
