  • Size N (10mm) crochet hook
  • Scissors

Gauge:

9 stitches and 6 rows = 4 inches in Braid Stitch.

Finished Dimensions:

The finished blanket will measure approximately 50 inches x 60 inches.

Stitches Used:

  • Chain (ch)
  • Double Crochet (dc)
  • Slip Stitch (sl st)

Pattern Instructions:

Foundation Row:

  1. Ch 80 (or desired width in multiples of 10).

Row 1:

  1. In the 4th ch from the hook, make 1 dc. (This counts as your first 2 dc).
  2. Make 1 dc in each of the next 2 ch, then ch 1.
  3. Skip 2 ch, in the next ch make 3 dc (this creates the braid effect).

  4. Repeat from * across the row, ending with 1 dc in the last dc.

Repeat Rows 1 & 2 until the blanket reaches desired length.

Final Row:

  1. For the last row, ch 1 and make 1 sl st across the row to finish.

Finishing:

  1. Fasten off and weave in any loose ends with the tapestry needle.
