Materials
- Worsted weight yarn in red, white, and black
- Crochet hook size H/8 (5 mm)
- Tapestry needle
- 2 gold belt buckle embellishments
Stitches Used
- ch = chain
- sc = single crochet
- dc = double crochet
- sl st = slip stitch
- sc blo = single crochet back loop only
Instructions
Cuff
- With red yarn, ch 28. Join with sl st to first ch to form a ring.
- Round 1: Ch 1, sc in each ch around, join with sl st to first sc. (28 sts)
- Rounds 2-5: Ch 1, sc blo in each sc around, join with sl st to first sc.
Main Body
- Continue with red, Round 6: Ch 2, dc in each sc around, join with sl st to first dc.
- Rounds 7-14: Repeat Round 6, maintaining stitch count.
- Switch to black yarn for belt, Round 15: Ch 1, sc in each dc around, join with sl st to first sc.
- Rounds 16-18: Repeat Round 6 with red yarn.
Thumb Opening
- Round 19: Ch 2, dc in next 18 sts, ch 5 (thumb hole), skip next 5 sts, dc in remaining sts, join with sl st to first dc.
- Rounds 20-23: Ch 2, dc in each dc and ch around, join with sl st.
Top Trim
- Switch to white yarn, Round 24: Ch 1, (sc, dc) in each st around, join with sl st to first sc.
- Round 25: Ch 1, (sc, dc) in same st as join, (sc, dc) in each st around, join with sl st.
Finishing
- Sew gold belt buckle to the black band at the front of each mitten.
- Weave in all ends securely.
