Crochet Festive Christmas Tree Table Runner Free Pattern
Materials Needed:
- Worsted weight yarn in cream, green, red, brown, and yellow
- Crochet hook size H/8 (5.0 mm)
- Tapestry needle for weaving ends
- Scissors
Gauge:
14 stitches and 16 rows = 4 inches in double crochet (dc)
Abbreviations:
- ch: chain
- sc: single crochet
- dc: double crochet
- st(s): stitch(es)
- sl st: slip stitch
- rep: repeat
Instructions:
Main Body:
- With cream yarn, ch 122.
- Row 1: Dc in the 4th ch from hook and in each ch across, turn. (120 dc)
- Row 2-10: Ch 3 (counts as dc here and throughout), dc in each st across, turn.
- Row 11: Begin tree motif using green yarn. Follow graph for tree placement, changing colors as needed for tree, star, and trunk. Finish row with cream.
- Rows 12-30: Continue in dc with cream, following tree motif placement every 10 rows. (Overall: 5 trees)
- Finish off cream yarn.
Edging:
- With red yarn, attach at one corner of the runner.
- Round 1: Sc evenly around all four sides of the table runner, placing 3 sc in each corner. Join with sl st to first sc.
- Round 2: Ch 3, 2 dc in same st, *sk 2 sts, 3 dc in next st*, rep from * around, join with sl st to top of ch 3.
- Round 3: Switch to green yarn, ch 1, sc in each st around, join with sl st to first sc. Finish off and weave in ends.
Coasters:
- Using colorwork technique, create a circle motif with red and green yarn followed by a border in cream, matching the style of the table runner for a coordinated look.
- Use sc and dc stitches to form a flat circle, changing colors to achieve the star pattern.
- Edge with a round of sc using red yarn.
Finishing:
Block the table runner and coasters to shape and size. Weave in all ends using the tapestry needle.
