Crochet Delicate Whimsical Frost Flower Ornament

Materials Needed:

• Fine cotton thread size 10
• 2.5 mm crochet hook
• Yarn needle
• Blocking mat and pins (for finishing)

Abbreviations:

• ch = chain
• sc = single crochet
• dc = double crochet
• sl st = slip stitch
• sp = space

Ornament Pattern:

Round 1:

Make a magic ring, ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), and work 11 dc into the ring. Pull the ring tight and join with a sl st to the top of the ch 3. (12 dc)

Round 2:

Ch 2 (counts as 1 dc), dc in the same st, then 2 dc in each st around. Join with sl st to the top of ch 2. (24 dc)

Round 3:

Ch 3, then *skip next st, (sc, ch 4, sl st in 4th ch from hook) back into the same st*. Repeat from * to * around. Join with sl st to the top of ch 3.

Round 4:

Ch 1, *sc in next ch-4 sp, ch 3, 2 dc in same sp, ch 3, sc in next ch-4 sp*. Repeat around. Join with sl st.

Round 5:

Ch 4, *dc in next ch-3 sp, ch 2, sl st in next sc*. Repeat around. Finish off, leaving a long tail for hanging.

Finishing:

Weave in all loose ends. To block the ornament, pin it to a blocking mat and shape it gently. Allow it to dry completely before using.
