Cute Whimsical Flower Basket Pattern

Materials Needed:

• Worsted weight cotton yarn in pastel colors (yellow, pink, green, and light blue)
• Size H (5 mm) crochet hook
• Scissors
• Tapestry needle for sewing ends
• Plastic canvas (optional for stabilization)

Stitch Abbreviations:

• CH = Chain
• SC = Single Crochet
• DC = Double Crochet
• HDC = Half Double Crochet
• SL ST = Slip Stitch

Basket Base:

1. CH 4, join with SL ST to form a ring.
2. Round 1: CH 1, 8 SC in ring. Join with SL ST to first SC (8 stitches).
3. Round 2: CH 1, 2 SC in each stitch around. Join (16 stitches).
4. Round 3: CH 1, *1 SC in first stitch, 2 SC in next stitch; repeat from * around. Join (24 stitches).
5. Round 4: CH 1, *2 SC in first stitch, 1 SC in next 2 stitches; repeat from * around. Join (32 stitches).
6. Round 5: CH 1, 1 SC in each stitch around. Join.
7. Rounds 6-10: Repeat Round 5 (5 rows total).

Basket Sides:

1. CH 1, SC in each stitch around. Join.
2. Repeat for 5 more rounds.
3. Fasten off and leave a long tail for attaching the handle.

Handle:

1. CH 25. HDC in second chain from hook. HDC in each chain across. 
2. Join the ends to the sides of the basket with a needle to form the handle.

Flower Decor:

1. With the pastel colors, CH 4 and form a small flower by making 5 petals using DC. Join to original CH and fasten off.
2. Sew flowers onto the basket using the tapestry needle.

Finishing:

• Weave in all ends using the tapestry needle.
• If using, place the plastic canvas inside the bottom for support.
