Crochet Colorful Whimsical Garden Lantern Flowers Free Pattern

Materials Needed:

  • ch = chain
  • dc = double crochet
  • sl st = slip stitch

Instructions:

Base for Flower:

  1. With your base color, ch 4 and join to form a ring.
  2. Round 1: Ch 2 (counts as first dc), work 11 dc into the ring. Join with a sl st to the top of ch 2. (12 dc)
  3. Round 2: Ch 2, *dc in same st, 1 dc in next st* repeat around. Join. (18 dc)
  4. Round 3: Ch 2, *dc in same st, 1 dc in next 2 st* repeat around. Join. (24 dc)

Petals (Make 5-8 depending on desired fullness):

  1. Using your petal colors, ch 5.
  2. Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, dc in next ch, tr in next ch, dc in last ch. Turn.
  3. Row 2: Ch 1, sl st in 1st st, dc in next, sc in last. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Attaching Petals:

  1. Attach one petal at a time to the base using a yarn needle to sew them into place, evenly spaced around the base to form a flower shape.
  2. If desired, lightly stuff each petal with fiberfill for added dimension.

Finishing Touches:
