Materials:
- Worsted weight yarn in brown, cream, dark brown, and green
- Crochet hook size G/4.0 mm
- Safety eyes (10 mm)
- Polyester fiberfill for stuffing
- Tapestry needle
- Scissors
Abbreviations:
- sc: single crochet
- inc: increase (2 sc in one stitch)
- dec: decrease (sc 2 stitches together)
- st: stitch
Body:
- Using brown yarn, make a magic ring, 6 sc into ring. (6 sts)
- Round 2: inc in each st around (12 sts)
- Round 3: (sc in next st, inc) around (18 sts)
- Round 4: (sc in next 2 sts, inc) around (24 sts)
- Continue increasing by 6 sts every round until you have 36 sts.
- Rounds 7-15: sc in each st around (36 sts)
- Round 16: (sc in next 5 sts, dec) around (30 sts)
- Round 17: sc in each st around (30 sts)
- Round 18: (sc in next 4 sts, dec) around (24 sts)
- Continue decreasing every 6 sts in subsequent rounds until 12 sts remain, stuff firmly as you go.
Head:
- Using brown yarn, repeat Rounds 1-5 of Body.
- Rounds 6-12: sc in each st around (30 sts)
- Insert safety eyes between Rounds 5 and 6, about 8 stitches apart.
- Round 13: (sc in next 3 sts, dec) around (24 sts)
- Continue decreasing as Body until you can close. Stuff firmly.
Legs (Make 4):
- Using dark brown yarn, make a magic ring, 6 sc into ring. (6 sts)
- Round 2: inc in each st around (12 sts)
- Switch to brown yarn, sc in each st around for 10 rounds.
- Finish off and leave a tail for sewing. Stuff lightly.
Antlers (Make 2):
- Using dark brown yarn, chain 6, sc back across starting in second chain from hook, finish off (5 sc)
- Chain 4, attach to 3rd sc from base to form ‘Y’ shape, sc back across, finish off. Sew onto head.
Ears (Make 2):
- Using cream yarn, make a magic ring, 4 sc into ring. (4 sts)
- Round 2: inc in each st around (8 sts)
- Switch to brown yarn, (sc in next st, inc) around (12 sts)
- Round 4: sc in each st around, finish off leaving tail for sewing.
Scarf:
- Using green yarn, chain 50, sc in each chain across. Finish off, wrap around neck.
Assembly:
Sew head to body. Attach legs evenly at base. Secure antlers atop head, sew ears slightly below. Embroider nose and mouth. Add gentle spots using cream yarn on back and cheeks.
