Materials:

• Yarn: Bernat Softee Chunky (or similar) in Orange, Cream, Black
• Hook: Size J/10 (6 mm)
• Notions: Stitch marker, yarn needle, two safety eyes (or embroidery thread for eyes), stuffing for tail

Abbreviations:

• ch: chain
• sc: single crochet
• sc2tog: single crochet two together
• inc: increase (2 sc in one stitch)

Instructions:

Body:

1. Using Cream yarn, ch 60.
2. Row 1: Sc in second ch from hook and each ch across. Turn. (59 sc)
3. Rows 2-40: Ch 1, sc in each stitch across. Change to Orange yarn. Turn.
4. Rows 41-80: Ch 1, sc in each stitch across. Fasten off.

Hood:

1. With Orange yarn, ch 35.
2. Row 1: Sc in second ch from hook and each ch across. Turn.
3. Rows 2-30: Ch 1, sc in each stitch across. Fasten off, leaving long tail for sewing.
4. Fold hood piece in half and sew along the top to form hood shape.

Fox Face and Ears:

Face:

1. With Cream yarn, ch 21.
2. Row 1: Sc in second ch from hook and each ch across. Turn.
3. Row 2: Dec 1 at each end, sc across. (19 sc)
4. Continue decreasing 1 stitch at each end until 1 sc remains. Fasten off.

Ears (Make 2):

1. With Orange yarn, ch 4.

Paws (Make 2):

1. With Black yarn, ch 5.
2. Make a ring and sc around 6 times. Join.
3. Add details with embroidery if desired.
4. Sew to corners of Cream section on blanket.

Tail:

1. With Orange yarn, make magic ring and sc 6.
2. Inc each round until desired thickness, switching to Cream for tip. Stuff lightly and sew to blanket.

Finishing:

Attach hood to one side of the blanket. Weave in all ends securely.
