Materials

• Worsted weight cotton yarn in cream, pink, and grey

Instructions

Head

1. Start with cream yarn. Make a magic ring and work 6 sc into the ring. (6 sts)
2. Round 2: inc in each st around. (12 sts)
3. Round 3: (sc, inc) around. (18 sts)
4. Round 4: (2 sc, inc) around. (24 sts)
5. Round 5: (3 sc, inc) around. (30 sts)
6. Round 6-10: sc in each st around. (30 sts)
7. Round 11: (3 sc, dec) around. (24 sts)
8. Round 12: (2 sc, dec) around. (18 sts)

Insert safety eyes between rounds 8 and 9. Stuff the head firmly.

9. Round 13: (sc, dec) around. (12 sts)
10. Round 14: dec around. (6 sts)
11. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Ears (make 2)

1. In cream yarn, ch 8.
2. Row 1: start in 2nd ch from hook, sc across. (7 sts)
3. Row 2-5: ch 1, turn, sc across.
4. Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.

Ruffle

1. With pink yarn, join with sl st around the bottom of the head.
2. Round 1: ch 1, sc in each st around, sl st to first sc.
3. Round 2: ch 2, *2 dc in next st, sk 1 st*, repeat * around, join with sl st.
4. Fasten off.

Assembly

1. Sew ears onto the top of the head.
2. Attach rattle securely to the wooden ring.
3. Secure the head onto the top of the ring.
