  4. Round 3: Slip stitch to first ch 2 space, ch 3, (2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in same space. *In each next ch 2 space, (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) until you reach the next corner. Work corner in the corner space; repeat from * around. Join with sl st. Fasten off.

Repeat this process to create enough granny squares to make up the blanket, approximately 36 squares (6 squares wide by 6 squares long). Alternate colors as desired.

Step 2: Assemble Squares

To join your squares:

  1. Lay out your squares in the desired color pattern.
  2. Using the whip stitch or slip stitch, sew the squares together in rows.
  3. After completing the rows, join the rows together until complete.

Step 3: Add Edging
