Crochet Vibrant Striped Poncho with Tassels Free Pattern
Materials
- Yarn: Worsted weight variegated yarn (approximately 500 yards)
- Crochet Hook: Size J/10 (6.0mm)
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle
- Stitch markers

One size fits most adults.

14 dc x 8 rows = 4 inches

- dc: double crochet
- sl st: slip stitch

Instructions
Body
- Ch 82. Join with sl st to form a ring, being careful not to twist the chain.
- Round 1: Ch 3 (counts as dc here and throughout), 1 dc in each ch around. Join with sl st to top of beginning ch-3. (82 dc)
- Round 2: Ch 3, *1 dc in next 19 sts, 5 dc in next st*; rep from * to * once more, 1 dc in remaining sts. Join with sl st to top of beginning ch-3. (92 dc)
- Round 3: Ch 3, 1 dc in each st to center of 5 dc group, 3 dc in center st of group, 1 dc in each st to next 5 dc group, 3 dc in center st of group, 1 dc in remaining sts. Join. (96 dc)
- Continue in this pattern, increasing at the center of each 5 dc group until the poncho measures 25 inches from the starting chain.
Tassels
- Cut strands of yarn about 8 inches long.
- For each tassel, group 5 strands together.
- Fold strands in half, pull folded end through the edge of the poncho, pull ends through the loop.
- Repeat around the edge of the poncho as shown.
Finishing
- Weave in all ends using the tapestry needle.
- Block the poncho if desired to set the stitches.
