Materials

  • Yarn: Worsted weight in ivory, light lavender, and purple.
  • Crochet hook: Size H/8 (5.0 mm).
  • Tapestry needle.
  • Scissors.
  • Button (optional for the flower).

  • sc: single crochet
  • dc: double crochet

  • V-stitch: (dc, ch 1, dc) in the same stitch

Instructions

Skirt Base

  1. Foundation Row: With ivory yarn, ch 88. Join with a sl st to form a circle, being careful not to twist.
  2. Row 1: Ch 3 (counts as dc), 1 dc in the next 2 ch, *skip 1 ch, dc in next 3 ch, 3 dc in next ch, dc in next 3 ch, skip 1 ch*; repeat from * to *, end with 1 dc in last ch, join with sl st to top of ch-3.
  3. Row 2-3: Ch 3, dc in each dc, working 3 dc in center st of 3 dc group from the row below and skipping 1 dc between sets of chevrons as established, join with sl st to top of ch-3.
  4. Switch Color to Light Lavender: Repeat Row 2 for 4 rows.
  5. Switch Color to Purple: Repeat Row 2 for 4 rows.

Waistband

  1. With ivory yarn, sc in each st around the top edge of the skirt for 2 rows, join each round with a sl st.

Flower Accent

  1. Round 1: With purple yarn, ch 4, sl st to first ch to form ring, ch 1, 10 sc in ring, join with sl st to first sc.
  2. Round 2: *Ch 2, 1 sc in next sc*; repeat from * to * around, join with sl st.
  3. Leave a long tail for attachment, sew flower to waistband and add a button in the center if desired.

Finishing

Weave in all ends neatly with a tapestry needle. Block to shape the skirt if necessary.
