Crochet Adorable Chunky Lion Pillow Amigurumi Free Pattern

Materials Needed:

• Chunky chenille yarn in beige, brown, and white
• 6.5 mm crochet hook
• 16" round pillow insert
• Black embroidery thread
• Tapestry needle
• Two 18mm safety eyes
• Stitch markers

Abbreviations:

• st: stitch
• ch: chain
• sc: single crochet
• inc: increase (2 sc in the same stitch)
• sl st: slip stitch

Pattern:

Main Face:

1. With beige yarn, start with a magic ring and work 6 sc into the ring. (6 sts)
2. R1: Inc in each st around. (12 sts)
3. R2: (Sc in next st, inc) six times. (18 sts)
4. R3: (Sc in next 2 sts, inc) six times. (24 sts)
5. R4: (Sc in next 3 sts, inc) six times. (30 sts)
6. Continue in this pattern, increasing 6 sts each row until you have 72 sts.
7. Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing later.

Mane:

1. With brown yarn, ch 3.
2. R1: Sc in the second ch from hook and each st across. (2 sts)
3. R2: (Sc in next st, inc) all around until mane measures 3 inches in width and can wrap around the pillow form.
4. Fasten off and set aside.

Ears (Make 2):

1. With beige yarn, start with a magic ring and work 6 sc into the ring. (6 sts)
2. R1: Inc in each st around. (12 sts)
3. R2: Sc around. (12 sts)
4. Fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing.

Nose and Mouth:

1. With white yarn, start with a magic ring and work 6 sc into the ring. (6 sts)
2. R1: Inc in each st around. (12 sts)
3. Fasten off.
4. Stitch the nose with brown yarn onto the base of the circle using a tapestry needle.

Assembly:

1. Sew safety eyes onto the main face.
2. Use black embroidery thread to stitch whiskers and mouth onto the face.
3. Sew the ears onto the top of the main face.
4. Sew the white nose and mouth piece onto the lower center of the main face.
5. Attach the mane around the main face, making sure it's even all around.
6. Place the pillow insert and secure the back of the mane to encase the pillow.
